Fundraising Campaign for a New Adoption Centre

MEOW Foundation (MEOW) is embarking on a Fundraising Campaign for a new Adoption Centre for Abandoned Cats and Kittens and YOU can help!

MEOW has been saving lives for close to a decade and we're ready to take on the future. The Foundation was founded by a small group of volunteers who had a vision - to Make Each One Wanted!

For nine years, the vision has grown through the tireless dedication of MEOW's volunteers, donors and staff. Together, we have saved the lives of more than 4,000 cats and kittens! Most of these cuddly companions have been placed in forever homes where they have become loving members of families, enriching the lives of people everywhere!

Now that we have built a strong foundation it's time for us to move forward and continue to improve the lives of both humans and felines in Calgary to bring us closer to realizing our dream of a no-kill Adoption Centre for MEOW.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Fundraising Campaign

What has MEOW Foundation done to get to his point?
- Our board of directors has developed a three-year strategic plan to outline the steps required for this significant undertaking
- Through the generous support of our donors, we have raised $125,000 toward our goal; and
- We have hired a Fund Development Manager to lead us throughout this fundraising campaign

How much money do you hope to raise?
While we do have a number in mind, we're still researching leasing costs and we're developing a budget to ensure our projections for our operating costs are accurate. We will announce a definite number in the new year.

Are you building a new building or leasing an existing building?
We are currently looking at finding existing space and then doing tenant improvements that will ensure it meets our needs. However, depending on community support and donations, the sky's the limit.

Where will the Adoption Centre be located?
We are currently looking in the north part of the city. Zoning and cost will of course be important considerations during our site selection.

What is the timing for the new facility?
The board has developed a three-year strategic plan so we are planning to have our new adoption centre open in late 2012 or early 2013.
