After spending quality time in a MEOW foster home, Cassia has forgotten her shy ways and now enjoys the company of people. As soon as she sees you, she will run to her cat bed to be brushed, talking away to you the whole time.

Greyson was rescued at 10 weeks old with his sister and mom. With time he has become more and more brave around people and has been getting better every day. He is a shy boy who likes to follow you around and sit and watch you from afar.

Mandy is a gorgeous gentle girl with a silky smooth coat and bright green eyes. She was the most caring little mama to 5 beautiful kittens and was immediately very trusting of her little ones with humans.

Mandy is the most serious toy-mouse hunter that we’ve ever seen. When she catches one, she’ll haul it away with all sorts of noises to announce to everyone of her job well done. She’s very efficient at the game of fetch and if you call her after she’s caught the mouse, she’ll bring it right to you and drop it in front of you.

Black, glossy and beautiful. Tolliver was rescued by a smart person who left his window open for Tolliver to be able to come inside when he felt comfortable.

Tolliver likes human companionship, but it takes a while for him to feel comfortable in your home and he will bond closely with one special person.

Tolliver can be a nervous cat at times and he would do well in a home that is quiet and has a predictable routine while he gets used to his new surroundings.

Whistler is guarding his catnip! He must really like his veggies.

Whistler was rescued when he was a few weeks old. He was cold, skinny and very scared of people. It took his foster home many weeks of patience to get Whistler to realize that he was finally safe.

When he was in his foster home, he liked to snuggle at night with his foster mom and hang out with his big foster cat siblings.

In his new home, Whistler will need to have a cat companion to help him continue to be a brave little boy.

Amory loves people.

Camille was placed in her foster home only a few days before she had her kittens. Camille was a devoted and loyal mother to her little ones. Her kittens have now all been adopted and Camille is hoping that it will soon be her turn for a forever home.

Eddie has so much love to give!

Eddie was first noticed by his rescuer when he started to come to her TNR feeding station. This poor boy was so hungry! It did not take long to realize that Eddie was not a feral cat but he certainly was a homeless cat.

His first vet visit revealed that poor Eddie would need to have several teeth removed! He was not impressed with that but through it all he remained a happy fellow who delighted in getting attention.

Due to Eddie's time spent on the streets and probably from a past territorial skirmish, he has contracted FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Please do not be afraid of adopting Eddie. Cats with FIV usually live long uneventful lives wtih normal attentive care, and they can also live with other cat friends in the same family without risk, as long as everyone follows the 'no fighting, no biting' rule.

Eddie loves to play with other cats and would really like to go to a a home where he can have a play buddy.

Happy Hux!

Hux is so happy to be inside. When he was on the street, he was always cold, hungry and so lonely.

At the MEOW Adoption Center, Hux is full of energy, playing with toys and his volunteer friends. He is a bit cautions around other cats but is always congenial!

His favorite part of the day is whenever he gets a wee bit of attention!

Poor Katia is having a bad hair day!

She has so much long fur that Katia sometimes resembles a tiny, cute sheepdog! It's a good thing she has personality to spare!

Katia was discovered hiding under a deck, just as the weather started to turn cold. She was so new to street life, that she had no clue as to where to hide to stay warm. She was lucky to be noticed by MEOW Supporters who made sure she had food and water.

Once Katia was in MEOW's care, we discovered what a sweetheart she is. She is a delight to hold and loves to feel loved.

Leander is a beautiful cat.

He used to be a pet, but after spending far too much time as a homeless cat, he has forgotten how to be a housecat.

Raja is regal cat with a heart of gold. He was rescued from an outside feeding station in early 2011. He would hide under a bush until the other cats had eaten, after which he would slowly come out and have a bite to eat.

At his foster home, Raja loves to spend time with his foster mom and soak up all the love he can get. He must have had a loving owner at some point, as Raja is completely comfortable being inside and adores all people.

Recently, Raja met a wee youngster that came to live at his foster home. Steve, like Raja, is waiting for his forever family. Raja and Steve have become best buds, spending almost all their time together.

At the MEOW Adoption Center, you can easily pick out Blair. He will be the refined fellow that seeks out people attention. Blair likes to introduce himself the minute you walk in the door and waits until you sit down. He then finds the closest spot to you and tells you about his day.

Blair isn't too keen on all the feline company he has. He seems to think all those youngsters need to mind their manners and give him his space.

Brightsky was rushed to the vets after a car hit her. She was lucky that her accident happened in front of a watchful MEOW supporter.

At the vets, poor Brightsky was so scared it took some time for her injuries to be examined. Lady luck must have been smiling on this sweet girl as she only had minor bumps and bruises.

At the MEOW Adoption Center, Brightsky kept to herself for a few days after her arrival. Now she has decided to begig her 'thank you's' and is doing her best to a gracious, thankful kitty.

Hello Ginger!

Ginger was an outside cat for a very long time. When her caregivers were planning to move, they looked and looked for someone to assume the care of Ginger and her sister. Alas, no one could be found. Hence, Ginger is now residing quite happily at the MEOW Adoption Centre.

At first she wasn't too sure about living inside a people house. She was used to seeing her favorite people outside, where she would pop onto the first available lap and nap away her free time. She has gradually become used to the steady parade of volunteers and her favorite volunteers are the ones that come bearing treats!

Homeless but not without hope!

When Gregory's rescuer first brought him indoors, she was sure he had owners looking for him. She put up posters and asked around but much to her surprise no one came looking for Gregory. He has all the mannerisms of a polite house cat that once had a home. Why he ended up on the street is not a story he wants to tell!

At the MEOW Adoption Center, Gregory is patiently waiting for his new family to come along. He wants this family to never, ever toss him out.

Lucky Logan!

Logan was another one of those poor kitties that was relying on a feeding station to stay alive. He would come by on a regular basis for a quick bite and then be off. Lately however, he seemed to be coming by more often and eating more. Clearly, Logan had no where else to go..

At the MEOW Adoption Center, Logan at first kept to himself. Perhaps he couldn't believe his good luck! He was finally in where it was warm, he had lots of food and best of all, he had people around him who cared.

Now Logan is ready to go to his furever family. He is a hansome, sweet cat with super soft fur. The perfect combination for this cold, cold weather!

Mina's turn!

Mina is an attractive cat who was taken indoors after she was found lost and pregnant. She is bicolored with black spots on her white fur.

Mina is friendly, alert, graceful and loves to play and hunt. She enjoys the company of humans but prefers to be near, rather than to be held. She loves being brushed with her soft bristle cat brush.

What a shock!

One day North was on the street scavenging for food and the next day, he was at the MEOW Adoption Centre. He must have wondered what would happen next.

At first, North was quite shy and kept himself snuggled in his cat bed. He was not interested in any of the activity around him. After a few days, his curiosity got the better of him and he decided to check out what was going on. Thankfully he was impressed, because North has made many feline and human friends. North is friendly, yet independent, and knows how to live peacefully with everyone.

Poseidon used to be so sad.

Roland is fantastic cat to have around.

He is always eager to play and rub up against your leg for affection. He is a very active and athletic cat and loves to chase little toy mice, ping pong balls or whatever you want to trail behind you. If you find yourself at home during the day, he prefers to spend his time around you instead of napping in his cat bed.

This is one of the smartest cats you will meet. He has learned to open cupboards using the handle to help himself to a snack when he wants one. This just has to be seen to be believed.

Ryana was rescued from an industrial site a few days before she gave birth to her kittens. She was very comfortable inside a house, which makes us think that she was probably a pet before she was homeless.

Ryana was a model mom and she even adopted one kitten that was an orphan.

While she is a little quiet and shy, Ryana will purr contentedly and loudly when she is happy, which is most of the time. She loves to have her ears scratched and is learning to become a lap cat.

She loves everything about him and hence her nickname, Copycat. Toledo is usually a happy fellow, much unlike his photo would suggest. He is also a somewhat lucky cat. He was rescued by a kind person who kept him in her house, where he got along famously with her other cats and small dog. Unfortunately, she could not keep him and Toledo found himself at the MEOW Adoption Centre.

Toldeo is a nimble, active cat who keeps his trim figure by running up and down the staircase to greet visitors many times each day.

Toledo is looking for a mature family, as he is not to sure he is comfortable with small people. He does know that has a ton of love to give to his new forever family.

Tristan the Terrific!

Tristan is so friendly, one has to wonder how he became a homeless fellow.

He is quite happy these days to be inside where the snow can't get him and he always has enough to eat. Being a friendly sort of cat, Tristan is on cloud 9 with all the love he has been getting at the MEOW Adoption Center. Between the volunteers and other visitors, this charming boy is as happy as he can be.

Now, if he could only find his forever home he would be over the moon!

Braveheart is certainly a brave little cat.

She was found along with her four siblings in a barn. Her rescuers waited for mom to come back but she never returned.

The rescuers continued to feed the kittens as they waited for MEOW to place them in a foster home. Once in the foster home, Braveheart has some adjusting to do.

Now Braveheart will accept pets and is pretty sure she likes her foster mom and dad!

In her new home, Braveheart will need to have a companion to help her feel safe and secure.

Canache is a feisty, happy kitten. She loves to play with her kitten friends at her foster home. Swatting tails seems to be her speciality! Canache also likes her feather toys and any ball that has a bell in it.

She takes her nap time very seriously - Canache can often be found in the window cell napping and looking at the birds.

When she first arrived at her foster home, Canache was quite shy and did not happily accept pets. What a difference a few weeks can make, as Canache will now let her foster mom pet her without running away and will occasionally come and walk across a people lap and sit for a few minutes and purr!

Chia is the shy girl of the crowd.

She loves to purr but prefers to sit and watch all the action from somewhere safe.
Chia can be held without biting or scratching but always will go and find a place to hide when she has had too much excitement.

Kai deserves a great life!

Kai was born on the street to a street cat. Not exactly a good start to life.

At the MEOW Adoption Center, Kai really wants to be friends, but sometimes he gets a little overwhelmed with all the noise and activity.

He likes to play with is kitty toys and observes his fellow kitty friends. With time, Kai will become more comfortable in a people house.

In his new home, Kai will need his new family to be patient with him and enjoy him just as he is!

Lipton T is a beautiful, soft furball who enjoys being around people and other cats. She's super curious and playful and friendly although not quite a lapcat just yet. She enjoys rubbing against her foster family's legs as she walks past, and playing with toys under doors.

In her new home, Lipton T will need a cat companion to help her feel safe and secure.

With the right connection, Modem will be the best pet effort.

Modem was born to a street mom in a large community cat colony. This cat already knows that all people aren't the same, some are nice and some are not. Modem is lucky to have found a foster home with good people and has become a very affectionate kitten. He just loves to lay in bed and watch his brother and sister play. He gets along well with all the other cats, and he will let you hold and cuddle him until your satisfied.

All Modem needs is a little TLC, and he will definitely be your life time companion.

Moonique has a really cute milk mustache and cool white racing stripes on her haunches.

She was rescued with her brother Racer when they were already 4 months old, so it has taken a little time to get used to people. She likes to play with other cats and she likes to boss her brother around.

Moonique purrs out loud when the resident cats in the foster home come to play with her. She likes to chase mice and wand toys. She is a little shy at first, but once she gets to know you, she enjoys being pet.

Mr. Knight is a playful, very brave young cat. He is all about the treats and food - treats beware!

He is a very curious little man with lots of love to give. You can always hear him purr before you can see him and what you see first is his beautiful amber eyes!

Mr. Knight loves the other two cats that are at the foster home and enjoys kids too!

Racer is a gentle guy who is a little shy at first. He has very soft fur and really nice curious eyes.

Racer didn't move into a people house until he was 4 months old so he needs a little time to figure out that people are ok. He likes treats and he likes to play with toys that move, especially wand toys.

Racer gets along really well with other cats and he always lets the other cat have their own way. Once he gets to know you, he enjoys being pet.

Sphynxen is like the Sphinx.

His favourite position is lying just like the Egyptian 7th Wonder and has the same inscrutable expression on his face. Once you bring out the wand-toy however, he becomes a leaping and whirling dervish. His body is creamy white, has eyes of blue, and burnt-umber shades on his nose, ears, paws and tail.

Steve appeared one day as his chosen rescuer had arrived home. He scampered up and settled down as his future foster mom was getting her keys out! What a smart boy!

Steve settled into his foster home with no problems. He is a very active youngster, never sitting still for too long. While Steve isn't big on being cuddled, he will curl up on his foster mom's lap at the end of the day - if he feels like it!

Steve got an added bonus in his foster home. He met his new best friend, a fellow foster cat named Raja. It didn't take long before the two of them were inseparable: eating, sleeping and just enjoying life together.

Anselm was orphaned at a very young age and required constant attention from his foster family. Because of the close attention he received from his humans, he became very friendly and cuddly.

Holmes the kitten used to be a shy guy.

Since his siblings got adopted, Holmes is no longer shy at all. He craves attention. If someone is looking for a cuddler - Holmes is the boy for that.

He follows his foster mom and the resident cats like a tiny little shadow. And he loves to play until he's exhausted.. He has discovered how yummy treats are, and will always come for a treat.

When you first meet Noodles, you won't believe that he was once living on the street. His rescuer had been feeding Noodles and his mom and brother since the fall of 2011. Noodles seemed friendly and would 'meow' back to the kind people who were feeding him.

Once he was at the MEOW Adoption Center, Noodles began to shine. He is super friendly and absolutely loves to be petted. He may be a little shy when he first meets new people, but that is only a temporary phase. It isn't long before the purring begins.

Whiskey has no idea how gorgeous his green eyes are!

Whiskey is a curious little kitten who has worked hard on getting comfortable living in a people house. At first he wasn’t too sure what to make of all the attention he was getting. Through his foster mom’s patience and hard work, Wiskey the green-eyed imp, is now super playful with anyone or any other animal that will play with him.

Whiskey is looking for a forever home that will come with a playmate (human or not!), a few toys and of course, lots and lots of love.

Bellini is a fine example of a resourceful street mom. She is grateful she was rescued along with her four kittens. Now comes the hard part. This former street gal is trying her hardest to adjust to life in a people house.

Because she has had little contact with people, she is shy and very uneasy around her two legged friends. Treats are a good way to slowly get Bellini to realize that people are 'ok'.

Breen has spent most of her young life on her own. She learned very quickly to stay hidden when on the street and not to call attention to herself in order to be safe. She has no idea how gorgeous she is!

Tough guy or not?

Brucie used to be a scared tough guy. He was on the street long enough to realize that people can be scary.

When he first came to the MEOW Foundation, Brucie was very scared and spent a lot of time hiding with the other courage-challenged cats.

Eventually, the persistance of the MEOW Volunteer team wore him down and he decided to accept pets from the people he trusted the most.

He will need to have a patient forever home, one that will love him just as he is!

Christine is sweet cat

She's very quiet and shy – you hardly even know she in the same room! Christine is still getting used to being petted and can only tolerate 1-2 pets with the petting stick before she moves away. She hisses, but is never aggressive to her foster family.

Christine tends to eat when her foster family are not in the room, but has decided that eating treats out of people hands are quite OK!

Christine will need her forever home to be patient with her as she will take some time to settle into a new home.

This beautiful, black princess was rescued along with her 5 kittens. Her babies have all gone on to find forever homes, leaving Cinderella to find her own loving family.

Because Cinderella was on the street and had very little contact with people, she is very leary of her two legged friends. Cinderella in still a bit suspicious of human hands, but it is our hope that she will eventually learn to appreciate the love and touch of human hands.

Sweet Colley is a little shy when your first meet her. She is trying very hard to be brave when her foster mom pets her. Colley has gotten as far as accepting pets when her foster mom is laying down but anything past that is just too much for now.

At her foster home, Colley loves one of the resident cats and tries to be friends with the others. Being shy does not mean Colley doesn't love to play. Her favorite toy is anything with catnip in it, YUM!

She was found along with her four siblings in a barn. Her rescuers waited for mom to come back but she never returned.

The rescuers continued to feed the kittens as they waited for MEOW to place them in a foster home. As the kittens got older, they started to play with their human friends and begin to trust people.

Dill was a few months old when he was rescued and has found adjusting to living in a people house a bit of a challenge. He is still quite leary of his foster family.

When his foster family are in the room he sometimes seems to want to join in while his sister is playing, but his nerves get the best of him and he'll dart past the people to be close to his mom.

He is usually cuddling with his mom or Rue or else hiding in the closet. He has made wonderful progress lately by deciding to eat wet food out of people hands! Quite a feat for a small, frightened kitten.

Dodie is a nice companion cat who enjoys the company of felines and humans. She isn't a cat who likes to be handled and really is confused by all the loving that the other cats indulge in. However, she is interested in people. She loves games, romps on cat furniture and plays with toys, and does very much enjoy eating tasty treats supplied by volunteers. She will take treats from the hand and also enjoys it when they are tossed for her to chase and capture.

Dodie needs the companionship of a nice mellow cat who is near her age and playful. She is a little bashful and will hide from people she doesn't know since she's a bit introverted, but there is that curious side of her that just can't resist at least watching what is going on!

Ebby used to be living on the street along with her siblings and mom. Her family was lucky enough to have a kind rescuer that was feeding her but she was still on the street.

She is working really hard on letting her foster family pet her and lavish attention on her. She loves to play with the toys she finds almost as much as she enjoys playing with her siblings.

When Elaine Benes was rescued from an outdoor colony, she was already a few weeks old. Naturally, she had no people experience when she first arrived at her foster home. Her first few days were a steep learning curve!

Galliano knows what if feels like to be unwanted. He was rescued from an area that did not want him there. If not for his kind rescuer something awful may have happened.

Galliano needs a patient family to love him and reassure him that he is wanted. This sweet boy has a heart full of love and no one to give it to.

He has a wonderfully cute 'meow' and has taken it upon himself to be the unofficial MEOW Diplomat when scared kitties come in. Galliano makes it a point to approach and do his best to settle down the frightened newcomers. What a kind hearted boy!

Lassimer's short-story

When Lassimer first came to the MEOW Adoption Center, he wasn’t a happy cat. At first we thought he was a shy fellow and he would come around in time. That was before it was discovered he had severe dental issues! The poor cat wasn’t being ungrateful to his MEOW friends, he was in constant pain.

Once he got his teeth issues fixed, the real Lassimer began to shine. He now loves to be gently petted and has taken a special liking to the youngsters! What a change.

Lassimer is now looking for a forever home with lots of love and patience.

Smile Leto!

Leto was rescued when he was already a few weeks old. The first few days he spent inside must have been a terrible shock for him!

At his foster home, Leto will come up to his foster mom if she has treats in her hand. He is slowly getting used to people and living in a people house.

Leto loves to run up and down the stairs and chase the resident older cat. Leto is very bonded to his sister Canache.

Lilac has taken to exploring the family room and will now come out to hang out with her kittens. She is even starting to play a bit when the kittens give her a chance. Lilac is a very good mom and talks to her kittens all the time. She lets them use her body as a launching pad as they run past!

Manuel and his sister were trapped when both were already a few weeks old. He hadn't had a lot of people experience until he came to his foster home. The end of his wee tail looks as if it was broken and his ear has a nick in it. Street life was tough on this little fellow.

Pat spent the first few weeks of his life out on the street. His family had a kind person that was feeding them and making sure they were OK. Sadly for Pat, his caregiver was moving away and there was no one else to care for his family. That's where MEOW comes in. MEOW Foundation rescued Pat and his family and brought them all to safety at the Adoption Center.

At first, Pat was very afraid of people and was not a happy kitten. Gradually, he has begun to lose his fear and realize that people are good. They even bring his favorite treats because they know the way to Pat's heart is through his stomach.

Pat also enjoys the toys he has discovered in doors. He would not ever want to be a street cat again.

A true diamond in the rough! Sorry for the cliché, but this girl really is!

She’s got a gorgeous coat of hair… now if only she’d let us brush it! She yearns to be with others, especially cats in her foster home, but her fear of people keeps her at bay. You see, she¬’s been on her own for a while, and so human companionship is a new concept to her.

All Phyllys needs is someone who’s willing to teach her a second language, ours! She’s willing to learn, if you’re patient with her. She was rescued with her 4 young kittens arrived quite scared of life with people. It was all too new. Her fear being evident, she was still grateful enough to let her foster mom handle & care for her babies, all the while observing from a safe distance.

While her little ones grew, her fear shrunk, and the distance diminished. Being part of a household is this beautiful cat’s dream. One she strives for every day, little by little, by moving closer & closer to it's inhabitants. She's quite comfortable with the big dog, and now she’ll let a person sit next to her (she’s not ready just yet to jump up & join people on their sofas… but she’ll get there!), and, if she’s feeling relaxed, she’ll even take treats from your fingers! As her kittens find homes of their own, she would really like to find one for herself too.

Rami has endless energy. He plays with his toys in bursts of energy and seems to find sitting still a challenge. He is a shy boy but if he decides he likes you, then he gets over his shyness quickly.

He does want to make friends with you, but it will take some time before he is truly comfortable around people. Rami needs the occasional hug from another cat and will snuggle up with them, but his youthful vigor makes him restless.

Since arriving at her foster home, Rave has made huge strides in terms of her comfort level. Her foster mom can now get pets on her without getting any paw swipes in return. Rave comes to her foster mom instead of the other way around, which is a big deal when you are still learning to trust people.

Rave has also finally started to play - this took a long time. She has also formed a strong attachment to Ardie (another cat in the foster home).

Soulan was trapped as part of a large TNR colony. We were very happy when he turned out to be not feral as this poor kitty had eye and heart issues.

Throughout his surgeries, many doctor visits and medicines, Soulan has remained a polite, grateful kitty. At first he was very shy and was quite concerned when he was given medicine each day. He was probably hoping to be left alone, just once!

Soulan has come a long way in his socialization skills. He will accept gentle pets from his favorite volunteers and is showing an interest in all the action he sees at the MEOW Adoption Center.

Tamara was once a 'feral kitty'. Now she wants to be YOUR kitty!

Tamara was rescued when she was a young street mom. Her kittens were adopted out, but poor Tamara was just too frightened - her rescuer could not find her a home. When she became a MEOW kitty, Tamara was given a new lease on life. All the people company she has had at MEOW, has helped her to realize that people aren't all that bad!

Tamara will need her new family to understand that she will take a while to learn to trust them, and while she may learn to love them, she may never be a lap cat.

MEOW Foundation had to work very hard to get Tuuli. Initially, we tried to get her when she had kittens. No such luck - Tuuli was too scared and would not cooperate.

When we finally convinced her to join MEOW, Tuuli was not going to make it easy. Happily, she was no match for the endless love and patience MEOW volunteers were prepared to spend on her.

She will now accept gentle, slow pets before she scampers off. For a former scared street cat this is progress indeed!
