Rhea

In Memory of Rhea

This is in loving memory of Rhea – July, 1999 to October 18, 2014

Rhea my little wonderful feral girl.

My wonderful girl was caught in chicken wire while chased by a dog. She was about 3 – 4 years old when I adopted her from MEOW on May 4, 2004. She had been at the vet clinic for some time as she was sick so she had almost no human contact.

At the shelter I was going to adopt Paddy, but he was not ready yet, at that time. The adoption coordinator showed me Rhea and my heart went out to her. She had a deformed front paw but that did not stop her. Plus she still needed medication.

After a year she developed something in her head that needed surgery three times. After surgery she got medication and was OK. The build up in her head came out her nose, but receded over the years. Then, on October 18, she stopped eating and drinking as she had done the day before. I was alarmed, and went to the vet right away. The vet gave her fluids and Nutri Cal. She also told me that little Rhea may have a tumor in her head.

I put her in my arms and I took her to my bed with her bed. I woke up after 2 hours and my sweet little girl was already at rainbow bridge.

Mommy misses you so very much little Rhea. You were a star in my life and will always be missed and loved by your kitty family and your mommy.

Everyone should consider adopting a feral.
