This year, MEOW Foundation is participating in Home 4 The Holidays: the world’s largest pet adoption campaign launched by Blue Buffalo and Helen Woodward Animal Center.

Our 2020 goal is to find forever homes for 85 adult cats and 125 kittens between October 1 and January 3. Can you help us on our mission? See www.home4theholidays.org for more.

We are currently accepting adoption applications and facilitating adoption showings. In order to safeguard the health and wellbeing of staff, volunteers, adopters and our cats, we have modified our adoption protocol. As always, showings are by appointment only.

If you wish to adopt a cat, please submit an application via our website meowfoundation.com. Our Adoption Specialist will subsequently contact you for a phone interview and once approved, you will be put in the queue for a showing. You can select up to three cats to visit. Only one person from the family can come into the building. However, if you wish to involve your loved ones in the showing, you are welcome to call or FaceTime them while visiting the Adoption Centre.

You will be required to clean your hands with hand sanitizer at our front door before proceeding with the appointment. If you make the decision to adopt, you must be prepared to take your chosen cat home on the day of the showing. Paperwork and payments will be completed online at the centre. You will then be asked to collect your carrier from your car, leave it at the door and wait outside while our Adoption Specialist prepares your cat to go home.

We have received a huge number of adoption applications in recent weeks and will respond to each one as soon as possible. As we are currently operating with reduced staff, the process may be slightly slower than usual. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

If you are considering taking on a feline friend, consider taking on a shy buddy. Even with large numbers of applications, these cats are still proving more challenging to rehome than friendlier ones, despite being every bit as deserving of love.
